“President Trump has always been a friend to the Jewish Community”

New York, February 22, 2017 – Rabbi Aryeh Spero, spokesman for Jews for America, stated today:
“Yesterday on CNN, Steve Goldstein, from the Anne Frank Center, in an obnoxious and self-righteous diatribe, accused President Trump of being an anti-Semite. This is a lie, a falsehood of the worst order. The truth is that for decades Mr. Trump has been, as was his father, a dear friend to the Jewish community as well as individual Jews, not only socially but having also donated substantially to many Jewish causes. Prior to the political primaries, everyone knew of Mr. Trump’s respect and warmth toward the Jewish community. Now that he is President, leftist groups including, sadly, numerous liberal Jewish groups, are exploiting the label of anti-Semitism in an effort to bring down the President and his administration.
“Mr. Goldstein continued his smear campaign by asserting that the ‘Trump administration is the most anti-Semitic in history’.  This is another lie.  Mr. Goldstein was silent during the eight years of the Obama administration when many things were done to humiliate Israel and where Jewish death was sometimes treated lightly, especially after the jihadist slaughter at a Paris kosher supermarket and attacks on Jews from Gaza. Goldstein has been equally silent while hearing of the attacks by Muslim groups against Jews on college campuses and at synagogues.
“Too many liberals, like Mr. Goldstein, are engaged in an ugly and unrelenting campaign to cook-up fact out of fiction, hoping the more they keep saying the President is an anti-Semite the more people will start believing it. Worse, they appear be enjoying and relishing it. Their target is not only Mr. Trump, but also the tens of millions of Americans, including patriotic Jewish Americans, who voted for Mr. Trump and whom Mr. Goldstein and like-minded cohorts evidently deeply disrespect.
“It is the duty of people of good will and those seeking truth to condemn Mr. Goldstein and fellow travelers from besmirching the name of so many good people, brow-beating the country into constant disarray, and co-opting the term anti-Semitism for their leftist and extremist political goals and hegemony. Their cavalier use of the terms Nazi, Hitler, fascist, racist and anti-Semite is a cynical betrayal of the sacred memory of those Jews who suffered from real and actual anti-Semitism.
“These frenzied, nasty, and ever-escalating attacks against President Trump are poisoning the atmosphere of the country.”

Those who use such terms as “Hitler, Nazi, fascism, racism, and anti-Semitsm” against the President are just showing their own abject ignorance of history; any thinking person will understand such people’s thoughts are unworthy of serious consideration. Shame on them. Such terminology is used by those who, upon realizing their positions are so bankrupt, that they stand a better chance with inflammatory rhetoric aimed at those who are bigoted and ignorant. If their drivel was not so dangerous, it would be laughable.
