“I’m a hopeless romantic”
Peter Kassig is a self acknowledged idealist, and dedicating himself to a life of service is what makes him tick. A veteran of the Iraq war, Kassig headed to the Lebanon this spring to help the victims of the Syrian government’s bloody war on its own people.
“I am not a doctor. I am not a nurse. But I am a guy who can clean up bandages, help clean up patients, swap out bandages, help run IVs, make people’s quality of life a little bit better,” Kassig told CNN. “This is something for me that has meaning, that has purpose.”
