U.S. Soccer Wins Gold Medal in Grudge Match

After losing to Japan in last year’s World Cup Final, Team USA got a little payback

Congratulations to a classy crew, the U.S. Women’s Soccer team. After beating Canada in extra time on a crazy header from rising star Alex Morgan, Team USA went on to face Japan in the finals—a team they visibly outplayed but came up short against last summer.

The Americans won 2-1, in front of a crowd of 85,000, on goals from midfielder Carli Lloyd.

Revenge is a dish best served with fish and chips. London 2012!
