    Well done, Foster.

Very few Americans could conceive of living without water. I once lived in an RV in tthe countryside for 14 months while writing a book — and I had no running water. It’
s amazing how we take clean water for granted.

It’s staggering, how much of a woman’s or child’s time is spent in some villages, just to bring water from the nearest water source. IOn most cases, the water is filthy anyway, but it’s all they have. Water Missions International does truly bring life to an entire village.

Our family has supported a similar ministry, a much larger one called Living Water International, based in Texas but serving thousands of villages worldwide. They do just what WMI does, but with one great additional ministry which I highly recommend that WMI should do as well: they distribute a hand-crank and solar-powered little MP3 player called “the Proclaimer”.

That devices plays the Word of God in the tribe’s language — like having a pastor right there who doesn’t twist God’s Word, doesn’t need monthly support…doesn’t even need batteries. An amazing gift from God; LWI gets them from a ministry called Faith Comes by Hearing. They’re relatively cheap and indestructible, and they have MP3 chips for hundreds of languages and dialects. It doesn’t replace elders and pastors, but ti’s a fantastic bang-for-the-buck mission tool once you’ve given them a new well or spring box and lessons in hygeine.

Again, great news about reaching that milestone. The impact on dozens of villages — thousands of people — for decades to come, is hard to estimate. But God knows.
