The irony of the anti-bullying witch hunt is overwhelming

Normally I am a huge proponent of outside-the-box-thinking, but I have to question the strategy here. Stop one bully by creating 24 bullies? It’s probably not the best approach. Maybe Aiden Neely was involved in some bad stuff. Maybe he snapped some crayons. Maybe he ate another kid’s Jell-O. But traumatizing a 6 year old for the rest of his life while teaching kids that gang violence is acceptable all because the media has created some trendy witch-hunt full of knee-jerk reactions and self-righteousness seems a little over the top. This is just another example of the system trying to replace the role of parents.
