Tax Dollars to Help Dogs Look and Feel Better

Every pup needs a little glitter from Uncle Sam

Sometimes you just need a reminder that the hard earned money you pay in taxes is going toward high and noble purposes that improve our society. Like glitter to make dogs’ fur glisten.

The federal government has actually given a company a tax credit to boost its production of “styling spray for dogs.”

This is getting way out of hand. Why don’t cats get equal treatment? They like to glisten, too.

The glitter subsidy is just one of many government handouts to corporations and trade associations—a practice in which both Democrats and a good number of Republicans engage, as Susan Ferrechio writes at the WashingtonExaminer (less than a page). Oh, and the government also spends $250,000 annually on popcorn awareness.

You didn’t know that glittering pups and popcorn awareness were a constant subject in personal letters of Jefferson and Madison?

Finally, the founding fathers’ deepest desires are being fulfilled. Well done, taxpayers.

Now – get back to work!
