Let’s ask those rich people for donations then stick ‘em with the bill!
In case you were wondering, it costs somewhere to the tune of $35,000 to post security for a presidential visit to a private home in an upscale California community. Oh and the taxpayers end up paying for it. Did the Obama campaign forget to mention that?
In February, President Obama visited Newport Beach for a fundraiser, but neither his campaign, nor his party, has reimbursed the city for their troubles.
Mitt Romney, on the other hand, sent his check to Orange County right after his visit.
Is this nitpicking? Maybe, assuming the campaign eventually sends the money. But it just shows the level of disregard and carelessness with which the Big Government crowd views money.
