Romney: Speed Up Drilling Approvals

A modern-day Robin Hood, Mitt wants to take power from the vast central government and give a little to the states to rejuvenate the economy

Have you heard about Mitt Romney’s energy plan? Last week, he said America could get to energy independence by 2020. That might sound lofty but if JFK could promise the moon by the end of the ’60s, how hard could it be to better use our vast energy resources?

A key first step:  Romney said as president he would allow states, rather than the federal government, to approve drilling on federal lands. Gaining approval from the feds takes nearly a year on average (307 days), while winning the nod to drill on state lands takes only a few weeks.
