Entrepreneur: ‘I’ll be damned if I have him lecture me’
Like many Americans, Steve Wynn, who runs Wynn Resorts, is fed up with President Obama’s increasingly nasty rhetoric against the nation’s hard-workers and job creators. In a Nevada TV interview, Wynn said:
“The president is trying to put himself between me and my employees. By class warfare, by deprecating and calling a group that makes money ‘billionaires and millionaires who don’t pay their share.’ I gave 120% of my salary and bonus away last year to charities, as I do most years. I can’t stand the idea of being demagogued, that is put down by a president who has never created any jobs and who doesn’t even understand how the economy works.”
How does President Obama help rejuvenate the economy when he maligns the very people capable of doing the rejuvenating? How do you help people prosper by turning them against those who create jobs?
This is the same approach Obama has taken with the religions and religious institutions in his HHS mandate: He continually tries to turn Americans against the institutions that create our civil society, so all that is left is the solitary individual and the all-powerful government.
Well, to borrow from Eric Church (3 minutes; for your musical enjoyment), guys like me, and Wynn, and many others don’t go for that kind of stuff.
