Here is yet another example of a government expenditure that could have been ended in order to keep the White House open for all those kids who were disappointed to find its tours were shut down after traveling so far during their spring break to visit it. The tax preparer whistle blower never got a response from the Internal Revenue Service on his revelations according to the following extensive investigation by Channel 13 in Indianapolis, which revealed that the “IRS is doing nothing to stop” this $4.2 billion problem.
These “sequester stunts”—shutting down the White House tours, cutting funds for animal and plant inspections–that should help Democrats to see that this is not a typical Democratic administration. The sequester idea came from President Obama, despite his attempts to disown it. He wants to invoke as much as inconvenience and pain as possible in order to make the “obstructionist” Republicans to appear to be at fault.
The president’s ability to say two opposite things and get away with it is faltering and more people are waking up to the realities of his attempts to increase the power of the statists at the expense of those who embrace free markets.
But many of the people who were laid off in these small towns all across America when the central employer had to cut back or even fold their tents are Democrats, and it won’t be long before they start to realize the emphasis on protecting government jobs instead. Rarely are there layoffs in D.C.
Go to the recently launched openthebooks.org to find examples of federal waste and over-spending in your zip code. In another email we’ll send you, it shows how you can see every single check that the federal government has written in the last 10 years. All $35 trillion worth! There are some very interesting loans, subsidies and outright payments to some amazing entities.
Our best hope of getting the truth out to our fellow Americans who are increasingly becoming disillusioned by the Obama agenda is through Facebook, Twitter and by forwarding these type emails. I’m making a commitment to try to get up to speed on harnessing the powers of social media despite my gray hairs!
