How is this good for the cause of freedom?
An Obama State Department official has declared the “war on terror” is over. It seems that now that Islamists radicals are on the cusp of taking control of Egypt, they will have no need for al Qaida. No, they’ll just use legitimate state power to further their Islamism ends.
Great. Terror-loving, freedom hating people running major world countries. Isn’t this the whole thing we’ve been fighting against all these years?
Maybe you can say the war against al Qaida is kind of over, but surely not the war against Islamic radicalism. I think that one is just getting started …
I hope I’m wrong but I’d be willing to bet that in the future we will be saying to Obama administration officials, “Now that didn’t go the way you thought it would go, did it?”
