The term “war on terror” does not define an enemy. “Terror” is not an enemy. In World War II we did not declare “war on blitzkriegs.” “Terror” is a technique the enemy uses. The enemy is often changing from Al Qaeda to Hamas or most recently the Islamic State. A more appropriate term is the Global Jihad Movement.
The strongest force against the Islamic State is the Peshmerga, the Kurdish military force. They’ve expressed a need for help from the United States, they’re not asking for F-16’s but they can’t execute this war with AK 47’s. Even non-lethal things like tourniquets, night vision goggles, the ability to defuse booby traps the Islamic States leaves behind, body armor, helmets, winter uniforms and gas masks remain in short supply.
Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard and Senator Joni Ernst, both combat veterans, fully support Arming the Kurds to defeat the Global Jihad Movement.
