Statement from Foster Friess on Wyoming U.S. Senate Seat

With Congresswoman Liz Cheney’s announcement, I’ve received inquiries about my intentions to run for the U.S. Senate seat.

In the coming weeks, I’ll be on a listening tour to assess my fellow Wyomingites’ thoughts about what I can bring to the table in representing the needs of our citizens.

Lynn and I are grateful for Liz’s ongoing service to Wyoming and the nation, and we’re ready to help her take back Congress and hope to see her become the next Speaker of the House.

Liz and Cynthia Lummis represent the Wyoming spirit of the early pioneers – independent, principled and living by the “Code of the West.” I’m a fan of Cynthia Lummis and we share many of the same values.

I’ll be asking Wyoming voters what they are looking for in their next Senator. Do they want a businessman and political outsider willing to disrupt the status quo in Washington?

Over 40 years of building and managing a $15 billion business, I never forgot who’s money I was investing: the widows, teachers, and welders. In the United States Senate, no special interest would have control over me, I would be solely focused on serving the people of Wyoming — the nurses, single moms, welders, Democrats, Independents and Republicans, alike.

I’ll be listening to understand the most pressing issues facing Wyoming families. Do Wyoming voters share my outrage at the stranglehold the medical lobby has on Congress?

Through Foster’s Outriders and PatientsUSA, we’ve been working to bring left and right together around commonsense healthcare policy on which everyone agrees, like simple price transparency. Would they support my efforts to stop Congress from jamming multiple issues into one bill? By attacking healthcare reform incrementally we can get more done than trying to eat the buffalo in one bite.

I’ll be asking Wyomingites, where they stand on the situation in the Middle East. In our efforts to support our friends the Kurds of Iraq I travelled to Camp Black Tiger and stood on the ISIS frontlines.

In President Trump’s endorsement, he noted my strong defense of our right to protect our lives and the lives of our families. In addition to our efforts to increase civility, expand civics educationfight socialism and advance parental freedom in educationwe’ve invested millions in school safety in Wyoming through, which has demonstrated the ability to prevent suicides and school shootings with the message of Rachel Joy Scott, the first victim of Columbine.

Our listening tour will include a virtual online element for citizens who can’t make a town hall after a long shift at work or a busy day with the kids or who’d just rather stay warm at home.

God Bless,
